From Milano, Italy 6th Counted Murder formed in late 2011 and after some lineup changes,  vocalist Simone Dalamar Paga joined in 2016. The band combines different elements into their heavy metal experience including thrash, death and progressive metal, a mixture that seethes with creativity.  Their current album Individual is a concept album about the adventures of a lone serial killer. I dig the foreboding cover art as it captures this malevolent being perfectly.

Immediately “Individual Born” roars in with absolute aggression as this monstrous murderer comes into being. The staccato rhythm of “Syncopate” sounds ominous along with the insidious vocals. I loved Gianlucca D'andria's drumming throughout the album but it shines especially on this song.

We hear the prog elements in songs like “Berserk” and “Brutal Engaged Abuse” which especially showcases the rhythm, lead and bass shredding of Andrea Moretti, Marzio Corona and Alessandro Ferraris. My choice pick is “She”; I loved the sinister lyrics and vocal style and how the rhythm is slowed down but just enough to keep the song venomous.

Individual is a grand creative effort with potent sound and exhibits superb musicianship.
