Album Review by Allyson Kingsley, Music Journalist

Formed in 2015, Align the Tide hail from Malta and kick some mighty metal ass with their own mix of thrash, groove and melodic metal. They have toured with Mushroomhead and are enjoying themselves discovering cultural differences and yet it is within the metal community that we are all family. They recently spoke with Senior Journalist Nina about their band history and plans for the future. (Read the interview HERE)

Dead Religion is quite a skull crusher. Align the Tide funnel their fury through powering blast beats, grinding riffs, and kickass aggressive vocals; check out “Comedown” and “Dead Religion.” “Blacklist” has a Slipknot style intro and then scathing riffs and different tempos mixed in. My choice pick was “Welcome to Hell,” both epic and enveloping with a dense death metal vibe at the beginning and then showcases midway the brutal pace of the thrash movement.

Certainly an intense album from these metallers from the Mediterranean.
