Hellnite lineup:

Paolo Belmar: guitarist/vocalist

Ryan Payne: drummer

Konnor Miskiman: bassist

Hellnite formed originally in Mexico in 2010 and re-established currently in Edmonton, Canada. Midnight Terrors has been in the works since 2014 and finally will see the light of day on February 12th via Sliptrick Records. The band cites their influences are Slayer, Death, Kreator, Tankard as well as newer thrash such as Havok and Skull Fist. Midnight Terrors features themes of science fiction and the paranormal. Frontman Belmar hints that this album is merely a prelude of what is to come.

If you're interested in more of an instrumental prog/thrash album, Midnight Terrors fulfills that need. There are vocals but the main emphasis seems to be on the riffs. The guitar work is a ride that ascends and descends impressively. My choice track is “Spirits Prevail,” as I dig the rhythm of it. Overall a decent album but I look forward to what is forthcoming.
