Frnemy Live Show Review

By:  Allyson Kingsley, Music Journalist

I was honored to attend a set at the Providence Metal Fest by a band called Frnemy. Whoever knows me well, knows that I like my shit HEAVY.  Frnemy is the kind of group that will move your non-metal neighbors away. What a truly weird and wonderful bastard of styles, dark, medieval sludge, rip your entrails hardcore, simply diabolically heavy.

Jamie Lambert, breathlessly and relentlessly,  delivers his guttural vocals on songs "Bend" and "Suicide Sunshine."  Thank you, Brian Lee Guy(drums) and John Grayson (bass) for that gripping wrenching sound to make one's ears bleed. Frank Pernorio's barbed hook-bearing riffs will swallow you up like a cold, thick fog.

When the last roar faded, I sought out their blasphemous 3 song recording. To say the least it was monstrously crushing and I cannot wait for future bleak, harsh treats. Come rage with Frnemy on November 4th at Mardi Gras in Cranston, RI.
