Hot - Debut Album Review

Have you ever heard the name of a band before you hear what they sound like and prejudge? Well I would like to confess that this is something that happens to me on occasion and Stew’s debut EP “Hot” was not an exception. I’m not entirely sure what I thought they would sound like with that name but I was absolutely surprised when I dug into their new EP.

This Swedish trio lays down some soul like they were born in the 60s. “Hot” is reminiscent of a classic rock sound that their parents likely jammed to. They’ve got that Jimi Hendrix and Deep Purple (the Machine Head album) feel to them. Markus Åsland’s (Vocals/Bass) voice is unique like a smooth feathery Chris Cornell. Nicklas Jansson’s guitar work is a blanket of texture while Nicklas Dahlgren (drums) keeps rhythm like a true 70s style drummer.

I am honestly floored by everything about these guys; their chemistry, the music, the name and the art on the cover (by Maline Norden). If you like late 60s early 70s Classic Blues/Stoner Rock in a modern light you will love Stew.

Hi there! This is kind of off topic but I need some guidance from an established blog.
Is it very hard to set up your own blog? I'm not
very techincal but I can figure things out pretty fast.
I'm thinking about creating my own but I'm not sure where
to start. Do you have any tips or suggestions? Thank you
