Entierro

Available Digitally September 10, 2018
Review by Allyson Kingsley

As a native New Englander, I will always have a penchant for the amazing musicians we have on the eastern seaboard. Connecticut-based Entierro have fleshed out their lineup with Christopher Taylor Beaudette (vocalist, bassist), ex-Fates Warning guitarist Victor Arduini, Christopher Begnal (guitarist, vocalist), and Dave Parmelee (drummer, Nightbitch, Sperm Donor). Their self-titled album, Entierro, will be available on September 10th. The album encompasses old school heavy metal (NWOBHM vein) along with elements of doom and thrash influences. Entierro recorded the album at Dexter's Lab in Milford, CT with engineer Nick Bellmore. It is a super-tight beast that brings back the golden age of heavy metal but also updates its sound with doom-laden bass. And dare I say some magnificently potent drumming.

The first track “Cyclonic Winds,” is a cataclysm of sound laden with heavy, doom-filled riffs. My pick would be “Live to Tell,” a relentless blasphemous assault. I love the aggressive feel of the song. Then you have the edgy, powerful “Cauldron of War,” vocals battling with thunderous drumming. Overall, a fist-pumping album perfect for pissing off your neighbors.
