Album Review

By Allyson Kingsley,  Music Journalist

I fucking love it when a New England metal band or musician gets recognized and goes off on an overseas tour after many years of hard work. Ravage is a Massachusetts based metal band that have been around the scene since about 1996. They have obviously stood the test of time and the turmoil of lineup changes. After multiple album releases and tons of shows in the USA, they are off to perform some European dates with fellow metal bands Lich King and Seax. Call me biased but I have said that the New England area has some of the best rock and metal musicians around. They truly are a hardy working bunch and probably the most humble down to earth people you will meet on the scene.

This latest EP The Derelict City is a sampler per se of what is to come in the future as Ravage plan a full length album and if I am hearing correctly, a possible cover as well. Also check out the video included at the end of the review for “Till Heaven Cries.”  The 5 song EP is metal at its finest, no frills, just absolute love of the genre. With deep power metal and thrash influences, this EP is a teaser of what is to come. Congratulations gentlemen on your upcoming tour (check out the dates/places listed below) and thank you for the many years of hard work. Bring it!
