What better way to spend a beautiful spring day than to go to a local venue and enjoy the local metal/rock scene. That is always heaven in my book. Check out this Boston-based metal band Exhale, who are currently recording songs for a full length album.  Put yourself on their mailing list on their site for a free download of their EP.

“Empathy” has a gorgeous melodic rhythm and haunting searing vocals. Check out the grungy bass and guitar work on the song “Helpless,” absolutely visceral and elegant material. Mike and Corey shine on “Count the Days” with badass guitar solos and hypnotic vocals.

Their performance that night in Newport was captivating and vibrated with a warmth and richness not often felt. I was well received after their set while visiting their merch table. Again, musicians that prove themselves to be humble and down to earth, a trait I highly respect in the music scene. I look forward to reviewing their full length album.
