Wømb

Taciturn

Purodium Rekords

June 6, 2018

Album Review by Allyson Kingsley, Music Journalist with Boston Rock Radio

Wømb is a duet of kvlt black metal hailing from Portugal which has recently been surging forward in the metal nations. Not much information was available in regards to the background of the band but it's a decent listen if you're a fan of the genre. A little side note...while blasting the evil magick of Taciturn through my car stereo I was at the drive thru of the coffee shop on this freezing windy Sunday morning when a couple of nuns crossed in front of me giving me the typical dirty look. A good sign.

Taciturn is raw black metal, bare bones and the production sounds like what I used to get on cassette tapes in the mail back in the underground metal tape trading days.  Not that it is a bad thing if you enjoy clear cut primeval metal. Of note is the track “He is the Preacher of the Gods,” which was blasting when the nun disapproves. A dark tale is sung on the track  “Master-Slave,” use your imagination as to the theme. Many black metal bands chant of the occult and rituals and the song “Ritual Union Through Sex Magick” is obviously exactly what it states and hell yes, I fully support this doctrine. Very decent little find. Keep the kvlt alive.
