Cadaver Putrefacto

La Maldicion del Zombi Errante

Brutal Records

April 6, 2018

Album review by Allyson Kingsley Music Journalist with Boston Rock Radio

Damn me for having never taken Spanish as I would have loved to have interviewed these men. I like to understand how metal evolves in certain regions. I've always thought of Argentina as some exotic wonderland of rainforest beauty, certainly was not expecting such a malignant wonderfully brutal death metal band as Cadaver Putrefacto, which translates to Rotten Corpse. Apparently this band originated in 2000 and then reformed in 2015 with members Juan Gomez, Leonel Grismado, and Pablo Giangreco. With upcoming release La Maldicion del Zombi Errante (The Curse of the Wandering Zombi), they bring a sanguinary assault  of old school death metal to the frontlines.

The themes of their songs are horror stories, the macabre, perversions and serial killers. They cite their influences as Cannibal Corpse,  Six Feet Under and Deicide. Every intro to the songs is uniquely fleshed out and will mar your eardrums. Check out the excellent instrumentation on “Sangriento Frenesi” and “Macabra Coleccion.”  There's almost a hint of doom in “Regresso al Horror” with down tuned riffs and heavy bass/drums. The vocals throughout are feral and perfectly savage.  Classic death metal at its bestial heights.
