The World in Focus

Rambo Records

January 19, 2018

Album review by Allyson Kingsley Music Journalist with Boston Rock Radio

Simply badass. Mile is a Swedish melodic metal group originating from north of Gothenburg (Sweden's hot bed of metal) in Skovde and just released, The World in Focus, their follow up to 2015’s Lost. I am very much reminded of Avenged Sevenfold listening to this kickass album. Mile begins touring in South America in February.

The video for their first track release “Crying in Your Sleep" catches them jamming and pumps you up. Perfect crazy drum beats and love his range of vocals. “Why Won't You (Die Motherfucker)” is another ass kicker with fierce rhythms, wonderfully angry vocals and majestic riffs. “Burning,” with its brief hint of hardcore, has a potent bass riff intro and the axe wielding continues its intensity along with crushing harsher vocal work. Did I mention the blistering drumming? Check out the thunder on “Sacrifice.”

The band members are Masken (vocals), Fredrik Palm (guitar, backing vocals), Dave Wallberg (guitar, backing vocals), Niklas Tidholm (bass) and Dennis Kjellgren (drums). The band has performed in numerous festivals in Sweden including  Cancergala, Marotonrock, and Come Together. I am hoping for a US tour to rip up the stages.
