Voodoo Six

Make Way for the King

Cadiz Music

Album review by Allyson Kingsley Music Journalist with Boston Rock Radio

Voodoo Six have toured all over Europe as special guests for Iron Maiden and British Lion (Steve Harris). They have played at Download Fest and Sonisphere. The band members are Nik Taylor-Soakes (lead vocalist), Matt Pearce (guitarist), Tony Newton (bassist), and Joe Lazarus (drummer). Their current album Make Way for the King was produced by Tom Fletcher (Suicidal Tendencies, Ozzy, Yes, Jeff Beck).

Aside from the impeccable production and clear sound, these are some exceptional shredder songs. “Make Way" has edgy vocals and a bit of Joe Perry-like guitar flair.  “Electric" is spine-tingling with bluesy undercurrents. “Let Me Walk" is pure rock n roll with a badass guitar intro.

Voodoo Six’s magic is in their simplicity. They are clear enough without sounding too polished.
